Do you know any of my book friends - Alice, Anne, Jeremy Fisher, Lucy, or Aslan? You do? Then you have entered the realm of books. It can take you anywhere...through a wardrobe into Narnia, on the Kon-Tiki sailing expedition, or into the animal worlds of Beatrix Potter. Reading expands our world and enhances our lives.

Oct. 8, 2020 - Childhood of Famous Americans: Houdini
Nov. 12, 2020 - By the Great Horn Spoon by Sid Fleishman
Feb. 11, 2021 - Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Mar. 11, 2021 - Rascal by Sterling North
April 8, 2021 - Brighty of the Grand Canyon by Marguerite Henry
Instructor: Renee Metcalf
Course Description:
Join me each month for a fun, relaxed discussion on a popular classic Although it is informal, students will enjoy a deeper understanding of the characters and their motivations, plot development, types of conflicts, and author style. We will delve into the settings of the story and develop a greater understanding of timeless themes that have made these books endure. At the conclusion of the class, students will be able to take away some fun resources for further enhancing their study. Note: Participants should read the book BEFORE the class.
Tuition: $15/workshop
There is no registration fee for these workshops. If you wish to sign up for any or all of them, please contact me directly at: [email protected].
