Journalism Camp
Write and Design Your Own Handmade Magazine!
Date: July 12-16, 2021
Time: 10:00-12:00 noon
Ages: 9 year-olds and up
Location: In person/Floyd, Virginia area
Instructor: Renee Metcalf
Each participant will receive a book that includes plenty of tips and decorative papers. In addition, I will provide 10 hours of instruction over the course of the week. Each day has a different focus. Students learn how to find and collect information, how to write feature articles and stories, advice, and fillers. Learn to revise and edit and finally, design and create an appealing layout. At the end we will celebrate by have a time of sharing our magazines with the others.
Plan to dedicate some time outside of class to finish your writing so that your magazine can be completed by the end of the week.
A small fee of $30 covers your book, instruction, materials (glue sticks, scissors)
