Tap Dance Class
Instructor:  Renee Metcalf
Eight weekly classes kick off with a warm-up, followed by fundamental tap steps and techniques. In session, students will a portion of a choreography, gradually building on what was learned in the previous class. Sessions 7-8 are for review and performance!

Question:  What level of experience is this for?
Answer:  All levels

Question:  What is the cost?
Answer:  This class is donation-based.  I do work hard to prepare and to make it fun, but I don't want anyone left out who cannot afford the going rate for dance lessons. Give what you can.

Question:  Do I have to have tap shoes?
Answer:  No, but it's more fun that way!  You get to make noise. LOL.  However, tap shoes are an investment, so you might want to wear tennis shoes to try it out.  You can always purchase the tap shoes later.  One of my favorite dance stores is Discount Dance, but there are many others, and there is always Amazon.

Question:  If I wear tap shoes, do I need a tap dance board?
Answer:  Yes.  Taps are hard on floors and we do not want to damage the nice facility we are using.  Also, you will want a board to practice at home.  One of many sources is O'Hara Sprung Floors.  Do a search and you will find many sizes, shapes, and prices.  You do want something portable.  My husband has made me a beautiful board out of maple wood that is 4.5 feet by 5.5 feet.  This is a bit large for a portable board and it is heavy, but with advance notice, he could make you a 3.5 foot by 4 foot by .05 inch board.
